Visit the Outer Hebrides

A Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry

Caledonian MacBrayne offers day trips to the Western Isles. Throughout the year there are daily ferries to Mull, and the Summer timetable offers additional day trips to other destinations such as Iona, Colonsay, Tiree and Barra.

Explore Kerrera

The Isle of Kerrera looking from Oban

The ferry to Kerrera is only a short walk from Brandystone Cottage and a five minute crossing takes you onto the virtually car free island. Of interest, is Gylen Castle at the south end of the island where there is also the Kerrera Tea Garden where you can sit outside to enjoy home baking and light refreshments. The north end is more easily accessible by ferry from the North Pier in Oban.

Seafari Adventures

Kinlochlaich Garden Centre

Azeleas at Kinlochlaich Garden Centre

Kinlochlaich Garden Centre is situated on the Fort William Road. It is one of the leading garden plant centres in Scotland and stocks a huge number of plants. Although there is no tea room here, the Castle Stalker View Cafe is only along the road and offers excellent nosh and a great view.
